  1. Mixing Fabuloso and bleach is not recommended, as this combination can create a toxic gas that can be dangerous to inhale. I recently made the mistake of combining these two cleaning products, thinking it would help me clean my bathroom more efficiently. The fumes from the combination were instantaneously overwhelming; within seconds my eyes began to water and it was difficult to breathe. I quickly opened all of the windows and doors in an effort to air out the room, but even after minutes of ventilation a distinct chemical scent lingered in the air.

I consulted with my local home improvement store for advice on how best to remove any remaining fumes from the room, and they suggested using spray bottles filled with vinegar or lemon juice around doorways and window frames.

  2. I really like the the idea of your website that informs the public of what cleaning products shouldn’t be mixed but on article about bleach and fabuloso ( sorry if I miss spelled) but I would state what chemicals are in said product that are not compatible. I’m not saying we need a chemistry lesson just if it has ammonia for instance, you can simply say that it contains ammonia which is not compatible with bleach, now if I want to know what chemicals are at play here I must go to manufacturer’s website to see what the product contains. BTW I think it’s really wrong of Target to terminate an employee’s employment because employee mixed two cleaning products together that are not compatible. what about OSHA standards well they are not commercial cleaning products so not required to have SDS sheets I think if employees are going to be working with ANY cleaning products that are potentially incompatible employees have the right to know, Target’s response is complete bull shit I’ve heard that Target is not the easiest company to work for, but still surprised that a company so concerned with food safety with high requirements for anyone preparing food even third party venders / demo people ( people handing out samples) are well versed on food safety possibly required to be food safety certified. yes that’s good thing how about the safety of your employees and customers, it is Target’s responsibility to properly equip employees to preform their duties safely instead of insulting them when they do something “wrong” when you did not inform them of proper use. when I was responsible for cleaning as a retail manager I did learn OSHA HAZCOM STANDARDS on my own because I choosed to buy commercial cleaning products that were very concentrated I also told other employees that I would mix/ properly dilute cleaning product and I knew that diluted product was not hazardous (only mild irritation in eyes if it causes moderate irritation that is considered hazard by OSHA) but regular consumer grade cleaners are exempt unless you are exposed to larger amount than normal household cleaning would expose you to. maybe we have not been told the whole story but it looks bad on Target
